I've been given the opportunity to audition for one of the pieces in the Strawberry Theatre Festival 'Epilogue' this August. Chelsea Cohen is the writer and director. After the audition I was asked to return for a callback. The callback went very well- British accent and all. I was not cast, but I'm very excited about
What a wonderful experience! I performed two monologues at an event put on by Johanna Tacadena and Break-through talent. Dana Lockhart, Dusty Sue Rodgers, and Matthew Dorcas are just a few of the influential people I met.
Today was an amazing experience. Closing night of "The Psychic Wars" at the Un-chained theatre festival saw a beautiful moment of support and commraderie. After waiting 20 min for at least one person to adorn our house seats, we had begun to prepare to go home. As we walked towards the exit over 30 people swarmed into the theatre to cheer us on. These were not ordinary people though, these were all fellow actors from the other shows in the competitive festival. I was so honored to perform for these people who saw past a competition and supported their peers. Thank you to all those who made our last not only possible but a wonderful memory.
I've just received my acceptance letter for a $1,000 Joyce Minard scholarship awarded by the New Paltz Chamber of Commerce for my future aspirations to boost community knowledge and artistic promise. As I explained to the scholarship committee, my eventual goal will to open a performing arts institute in the Hudson valley for artistic youth. This is a great honor, and I thank all who support me and my dreams
This past weekend saw the premiere of William Allen's newest play "Psychic wars" at the Un-Chained theatre festival in Queens,NY. My NYC debut. Playing the role of Ashley Fasnet has been fun and free and the direction of Bill Allen himself. Proud of my cast mates; William Rivera, Allison Tamberello, David Newman, Collin Hafner, and Carla Rodriguez) as well as those who came to support the show. One more performance on June 15th!
Today I auditioned for Chelsea Cohen's new play "Epilogue" to be presented August 17th and 18th at the Strawberry Theatre Festival. I auditioned for the role of Kate (a passionate Brit who left her 13 year lover at the alter) and got a callback for June 26th. I'm so excited at the prospect of being a part of this original production.
This is my way of keeping everyone up to date on what I'm doing, feel free to respond with your questions, comments, and thoughts.
