This afternoons Classic Broadway Concert was a wonderful experience. I sang "Love, Look Away" from Flower Drum Song as a stand alone solo. I also had a soli in our Finnian's Rainbow choral piece, and S'Gershwin medley.
This afternoon I performed "Look for A Sky of Blue" from Little Mary Sunshine
I've just been informed that I am officially accepted into the Theatre Arts Program at SUNY New Paltz for this coming Fall of 2013!
Today I auditioned for the SUNY New Paltz Theatre Arts Program. I am going for a concentration in Performance, and I loved the supportive atmosphere of this school. After a few workshops with the vocal coach, movement teacher, Acting Professor, and Costume Construction teacher, we sat and waited for auditions to commence. I had intended to audition with a monologue from "The Key Exchange". Very spur of the moment, while talking to the accompanist outside, I was convinced to audition with a song. So, I whipped out "I can Hear the Bells" from Hairspray (my go-to audition song) and nailed it. I auditioned specifically for the movement teacher Connie, and she seemed to thoroughly enjoy my performance. I feel very good about today, and I hope to be accepted into the program for this Fall.
I've been cast as Ashley Fasnet (a sexy British show host) in William Allen's new play "Physic Wars" to premiere this June at The Chain Theatre in Queens!
